Name: Marshall
Mix/Breed: German Shorthaired Pointer
Sex/Age/Weight: Male, 10 years
Health: Neutered.
Up to date on shots.
History/Personality: Marshall was recently surrendered to a Maine shelter because his owner was moving and did not want to take him along. Marshall is a loveable 10 year-old who adores being with his people. His owner said he thought he had some separation anxiety issues, but never took any steps to have him evaluated or diagnosed. He could have been bored and not getting enough exercise. If he does truly suffer from separation anxiety, there is much that can be done. Training, desensitization, herbal remedies and/or crate training are all techniques that can help Marshall work through those issues if they exist. Marshall has a gentle temperament, and is very comfortable with touch. The staff was able to take blood without any protest. He just loves attention, and will lean right up against you to get closer. His former owner said he was great with other dogs and with cats. Our volunteer who met him at the shelter said he was as soft as velvet and simply a gentle and very loving dog. He's such a breed ambassador and would make any family proud. The shelter is no place for a sweetheart like Marshall. Won't you consider making him a part of your family?

Name: Duchess
Mix/Breed:
Shepherd/Chow mix
Sex/Age/Weight: Female, 7 years, 95 lb.
Health: Spayed. Up to date on shots.
History/Personality:
Duchess has been at the Baypath Humane Society shelter for almost three years. She is an extraordinarily gentle and sweet dog -- mellow and even-tempered. She has no food aggression issues -- you can take toys or treats from her and she doesn't mind a bit. She loves to be petted and just hang out with her friends at the shelter. Duchess has that beautiful, intelligent Shepherd face and the coat and plumed tail of a Chow. Duchess' only problem is that she doesn't like other dogs or cats. At Baypath, the shelter manager took her to training classes and she was completely controllable and obedient around other dogs. She walks beautifully on a pinch collar and ignores other dogs when she is with a confident, secure human. She was raised with older children and would be fine in a home with older children. Although she is not high energy, she does dearly love to go for walks. She would not be a good in a dog park, so the ideal home would have a fenced-in yard where she could hang out without worrying about close encounters with other dogs. Duchess also adores car rides. .

Name: Precious
Mix/Breed: Greyhound
Sex/Age/Weight: Female, 9 years
Health: Contact agency.
History/Personality:
Precious is very sweet and loving. She adores affection and attention from people. She enjoys short walks, and just lazing around (preferably with her human ) She is not good with other animals though, and would do best as an only pet, in and adult only home. She has food allergies, so she is on a raw food diet. She does excellent on this diet, and her coat looks beautiful now.
